Summary

Superior Edge Inc. is currently hiring for a Senior Software Engineer in Mankato. We are looking for candidates with strong Java experience as well as new product development experience. Successful candidates will: Design, develop, test and deliver software solutions within our product development group for use by our customers.

Primary Responsibilities

1. Develop applications using Java, Spring and XML.
2. Must be able to write advanced queries and views using MS SQL Server.
3. Work closely with product management and customers to define functional and technical requirements for new product features and specifications.  
4. Work with Quality Assurance to test functional product features.
5. Work with services on deployment of new releases and application management.

Technical Knowledge and Skill Requirements

1. 5 years direct Java (J2EE) experience with an emphasis on server side development in a web environment.
2. 1-2 Years Team Lead or Technical leadership experience.
3. BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
4. Proven ability with web development in Java.
5. Working knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Web Services, Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
6. Experience with Jboss application server
7. Experience with Linux operating systems
8. Strong technical and architecture skills.
9. Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
10. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-effort, dynamic work environment.
11. Experience working in a team development environment.
12. Basic understanding of Agile development methodology
13. Experience in Agricultural software and or services is a plus.
14. Experience working with a multi-tenant environment.
15. Experience in Hibernate or similar ORM framework
16. Experience using Spring or similar frameworks.
17. Knowledge of AJAX and AJAX frameworks a plus
18. Knowledge of GIS or GIS applications is plus

2. Experience in Agricultural software and or services is a plus.
